Testing Youth Fitness and Sports Performance
All to often youth fitness programs assess their young athletes by measuring flexibility, strength, speed, power etc while using adult protocols including 1 rep max tests (or adjusted 1 rep max), sit and reach, shuttle runs and vertical jump…to name a few.
Watch this video to find out why this approach does NOT work when working with developing, young athletes.

Mike
Hi Dave and Andrea,
My youngest is 13 and will be in the 9th grade next year. Would she be in the ‘Transformation’ group even though she is 13? She currently does soccer, softball, lacrosse, track and basketball. Also, are there more classes during the day in the summer? I noticed that most are evening classes which makes sense while they are in school and have their sports practices after school but just wondered if you added classes during the day in the summer?
Thank you.
Erin Fletcher (from PEF and soccer!).
